Union National Bank was awarded the "2011 Brand Leadership Award" at the Global Awards for Brand Excellence Event. The Global Awards ceremony was part of the World Brand Congress conference which was held at the Taj Lands End Hotel from the 24th to 26th Nov, 2011

Mr. Mohammad Ali, SVP & Head of UNB Group Communications and Strategic Relations, accepted the Award Trophy and citation on behalf of Union National Bank at a glittering ceremony held at the Taj Lands End Hotel in Mumbai on 25th Nov, 2011.

The World Brand Congress has been operational since 1999 and is one of the largest gatherings of prominent specialists and experts who contributed in creating some of the world's most prestigious brands. The Global Award for Brand Excellence is held alongside the World Congress and recognizes institutions that have managed to build their company's brand internationally. Winners were short-listed by an independent Jury comprising of Senior Professionals from Marketing, Branding, Advertising, Public Relations, Brand Strategy and Corporate Communications.

The criteria for selection of the award was based on a wide range of parameters including the performance of the organization, Marketing and branding strategies, the leadership and strategic skills demonstrated by the management as well as community & society initiatives undertaken in addition to the accolades and awards won by the organization.

On the occasion, UNB CEO Mr Abdeen commented "UNB has received this recognition as an acknowledgment of its consistent financial performance, based on a robust customer-focused business model..
