Italy and the United States: 160 years together

This year marks the 160th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Italy and the US (1861 - 2021).

To celebrate the event, various personalities from Italy and the United States, from different sectors, were asked to offer their testimony of the importance of this relationship, as part of the initiative organized by the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic.

Webuild's CEO, Pietro Salini, provided his personal contribution to the initiative. In a short video message he expressed the deep bond that ties Italy and our Group to the US: 'We share the same values: freedom, democracy, respect for others. We have a future together. And we share the same dreams. The partnership between our two countries is very important and necessary. Especially now, with the pandemic that has damaged our economies. The United States is our Group's largest market, where we continue to invest through our US subsidiary, Lane. For over 100 years, we have had the privilege of building great works in the US. Still, so much more can be done, and must be done. Today, the US faces the challenge of building new infrastructure, and Webuild is ready to lend a hand'.

It was launched on March 17, the Italian Unification day, to testify the existing union between our two countries, through the contributions of numerous authoritative personalities.
