Wei Yuan Holdings Limited provided earnings guidance for the six months ended June 30, 2020. The company announced that based on the preliminary assessment of the unaudited consolidated management accounts of the Group for the six months ended 30 June 2020, the Group expected that the consolidated results for the six months ended 30 June 2020 would record a net loss of approximately SGD 5.0 million as compared to a net profit of approximately SGD 1.5 million for the corresponding period in 2019. The Board considers that the net loss for the six months ended 30 June 2020 is mainly due to significant decrease in the gross profit (as compared to the corresponding period in 2019) as a result of the material adverse impact from the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic that took place in early 2020, in which (a) elevated set of safe distancing measures implemented by the Singapore Government from 7 April 2020 to 1 June 2020 after the listing on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited on 12 March 2020.
