Welltower Inc. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2023. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was USD 384.51 million compared to USD 361.98 million a year ago. Revenue was USD 1,662.01 million compared to USD 1,473.84 million a year ago. Net income was USD 127.47 million compared to net loss of USD 6.77 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.24 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of USD 0.01 a year ago. Welltower Inc. is a real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company owns interests in properties concentrated in markets in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom (U.K.), consisting of seniors housing and post-acute communities and outpatient medical properties. The Companyâs segments include Seniors Housing Operating, Triple-net and Outpatient Medical. The Seniors Housing Operating segment properties include senior apartments, assisted living, independent living/continuing care retirement communities, independent supportive living communities (Canada), care homes with and without nursing (U.K.), and combinations. The Triple-net segment invests in seniors housing and health care real estate through the acquisition and financing of primarily single tenant properties. Properties acquired are primarily leased under triple-net leases. The Companyâs Outpatient Medical segment properties are leased to multiple tenants.
