Wilmar Releases Sustainability Report 2022

Singapore, 31 May 2023 - Wilmar International Limited (Wilmar or Group) today released its Sustainability Report for the financial year ended 31 December 2022 (FY2022), its 11th such report since Wilmar started issuing sustainability reports in 2009.

The 2022 Report provides a data-driven viewpoint towards the Group's milestones and achievement in its environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals, and is aligned with Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Standards, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the newly updated Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards 2021, the new sector standard GRI 13: Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fishing Sectors 2022 and SGX reporting requirements.

Wilmar reported a record net profit of US$2.40 billion for FY2022 (FY2021: US$1.89 billion), a 27.1% increase from the previous financial year, a success that the Group credits to its continued ability to do well by embracing sustainability at the core of its business.

Since 2015, Wilmar has achieved 100% traceability to plantations (TtP) for all of the mills owned across its global operations. As at the end of 2022, Wilmar had achieved over 80% TtP across its global supply chain and also achieved 98.7% traceability to palm oil mills across its global supply chain. Supply chain compliance in respect of Wilmar's No Deforestation, No Peat and No Exploitation (NDPE) Policy is also detailed in the second annual edition of the stand-aloneNDPE Implementation Reportpublished alongside the Sustainability Report.

Wilmar is committed to mitigating climate change, signing up to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in October 2022 and is developing timebound plans to achieve near-term and net-zero emission reduction targets. The Group established its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint for the baseline year of 2020, which has been externally audited in 2022. Wilmar also has completed the mapping of the Group's 2020 Scope 3 GHG footprint to complete its emissions profile for target setting.

The Report shares some of the accolades and recognition that were achieved by Wilmar's sustainability efforts and its leadership position was recognised in several international benchmarks including:
