Zorlu Enerji, one Turkey's leading companies in renewable energy, receives the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) for the green energy produced at Zorlu Enerji Alaşehir I Geothermal Power Plant and used in Zorlu Tekstil's factory in Kırklareli. Zorlu Enerji Trade General Manager İnanç Salman stated that they met all the Zorlu Tekstil factory's electricity needs with the carbon-neutral energy they produced and completed a significant part of Zorlu Enerji's future vision. He added: "At Zorlu Enerji, 87 percent of our installed power and 100 percent of our electricity production are based on renewable resources. With this certificate, we prove that we are selling renewable energy to all our customers in demand. Increasing awareness on the use of renewable energy, which we consider indispensable for our industry, is an important part of our vision of leaving a sustainable world to future generations."

Renewable Energy Certificates are created to popularize renewable energy investments and consumption. They aim to create a reliable market by monitoring each electricity unit produced from its source to the consumers. In this context, the I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate), developed by RECS International, contributes to consumers' conscious choice to consume energy from renewable energy sources.
