First meeting of the new Board of Directors of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena

GUIDO BASTIANINI APPOINTED AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

BOARD COMMITTEES FORMED

Siena, 19 May 2020 - The first meeting of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena's new Board of Directors has been held under the chairpersonship of Maria Patrizia Grieco. The Board of Directors resolved, among other things, to appoint Mr. Guido Bastianini as Chief Executive Officer of the Bank. Pursuant to the Bank's By-Laws on the appointment of two Deputy Chairpersons, the Board appointed Professor Laura D'Ecclesia as Acting Deputy Chairperson, who in the case of absence or impediment of the Chairperson can exercise the Chairperson's powers and authority.

The Board then proceeded to form the Board Committees and appoint their members:

• Risk ans Sustainability Committee: Marco Giorgino (Chairman), Rosella Castellano, Olga
  Cuccurullo, Rita Laura D'Ecclesia and Raffaele Di Raimo.
• Appointments Committee: Nicola Maione (Chairman), Luca Bader, Rosella Castellano, Marco Giorgino e Roberto Rao.
• Compensation Committee: Raffaele Di Raimo (Presidente), Luca Bader, Alessandra Barzaghi, Marco Bassilichi e Paola De Martini.
• Related-PartyTransactions Committee: Roberto Rao (Presidente), Alessandra Barzaghi, Francesca Bettio, Francesco Bochicchio e Paola De Martini.
