Leighton Boral Amey Joint Venture secures Queensland road asset management contract

The Queensland government's Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has awarded the Leighton Boral Amey Joint Venture a five year road asset management contract to manage, maintain and improve the south coast's regional road network.
The $135 million contract will be delivered by a joint venture comprising leading A ustralian infrastructure companies: Leighton Contractors Pty Limited, Boral Construction Materials and leading UK highways infrastructure firm Amey.
The joint venture will identify, design and deliver programmed and rehabilitation schemes as well as routine maintenance activities and 24/7 incident response across more than 1,000km of network, including over 650km of state and national roads. The network stretches from the south of Brisbane's metropolitan district to the New South Wales border and includes the Gold Coast.
Leighton Contractors Managing Director, Craig Laslett, said: "The joint venture partners provide a unique combined capability for improving efficiency and services to a vital part of the region's road network.

Routine maintenance and incident response activities commence at the end of N ovember followed by the adoption of the full contract remit in January 2014 through to June 2018.
