The Envergure joint purchasing centre which negotiates prices for the Carrefour and U Enseigne groups has announced that both of them have entered into four agreements with Lactalis, Sodiaal, Yoplait and Laïta designed to increase revenue for some 28,000 French milk producers.

Under these four partnerships, more than 500 million dairy products manufactured in France and sold in Carrefour and U Enseigne Group retail outlets will generate higher revenue for producers. In particular, these agreements cover the Président, Lactel, La Laitière, Lanquetot, Lepetit, Chaussée aux Moines, Yoplait, Yop, Petits Filous, Perle de lait, Entremont, Candia and Paysan breton brands.

These agreements meet milk producers' powerfully articulated demands and so formalise the full and unconditional contribution that Carrefour and U Enseigne are making to the drive to increase revenue for farmers and producers - a drive which needs to be implemented along the entire length of the supply chain.

Carrefour and U Enseigne are delighted with these agreements which demonstrate that retailers and processors can come up with concrete solutions to producers' income-related issues, fully in line with the initiative started by France's National Food Conference.
