BARCELONA--Deutsche Telekom AG Chief Executive Timotheus Höttges said Wednesday that the company had no plans to buy exclusive content and would instead focus on improving its mobile and broadband-internet networks.
"We are not the next Time Warner," Mr. Höttges said at a Morgan Stanley conference in Barcelona. He was referring to AT&T Inc.'s recently proposed $85 billion acquisition of media giant Time Warner Inc.
Deutsche Telekom, parent company of T-Mobile US Inc., wanted "to be puristic, focused on the infrastructure" and spend its resources on its European and American networks, Mr. Höttges said.
