EuropaCorp has entered into exclusive negotiations with Gaumont in view of the business takeover of films from the catalog Roissy Films

Saint-Denis, September 20, 2018 - EuropaCorp, one of the leading independent film studios in Europe, announces today that it has entered into exclusive negotiations with the group Gaumont in view of taking over the activity of exploitation of films in coproduction and films under distribution agreement from the catalog Roissy Films. This project is subject to the realization of suspensive conditions, in particular the carrying out of satisfactory audits. Besides, it could only occur after the information and consultation of employee representative bodies.

EuropaCorp had acquired the company Roissy Films on February 28, 2008 ; back then Roissy Films had a catalog of around 500 films under management (as proprietary or mandate), including 80 award-winning films.

Among the films of the catalog Roissy Films are for example The Under-Gifted ("Les sous-doués") by Claude Zidi, or Quest for Fire ("La guerre du feu") by Jean-Jacques Annaud.

As previously announced, this project would fall within the scope of the new strategy of the Group consisting in focusing on its core business activities: the production and distribution of films and series around the world.

Alongside, around 30 films from Roissy Films business assets could be sold separately to a third party.
