HIGHLIGHTS

"The industry saw an unprecedented registration peak due to some manufacturers selling their excess Stage 6.1 stock. Ford sales increased by a very healthy 13% YoY without needing to force-register surplus stock. •  EcoSport and Kuga set new August sales records - up 98 percent and 13 percent, respectively, compared with August 2017

•  High-series vehicles - including Titanium, Vignale, Active, ST-Line, ST and RS - made up 70 percent of Ford passenger car sales in Ford's traditional

  20 European markets in August, up 4.4 percentage points year over year

•  Performance car sales - including Fiesta ST, Focus ST, Focus RS, Mustang and GT - grew 22 percent in Ford's Euro 20 markets in August compared with August 2017

•  Retail and fleet customer sales account for 75 percent of Ford passenger vehicle sales in Ford's top five European markets in August, better than industry average

•  Ford sales grew in 13 of its traditional 20 European markets in August compared with a year ago, with notable gains in Britain (total vehicle sales up 15.4 percent), Germany (up 12.8 percent), France (up 20.4 percent), Italy (up 10.6 percent) and Spain (up 29 percent)

VEHICLE AND MARKET NEWS

Ford remains the No. 1 commercial vehicle brand in Europe, and Ford Transit set a new August record with sales of 16,700 vehicles. Transit leads the MCV one- and two-tonne segment for the year to date based on the latest available data from the end of July.

Sales of Fiesta - Ford's best-selling vehicle in Europe - hit their highest level since 2011. Fiesta Active is the first in a new family of Active crossover models inspired by sports utility vehicles.

EcoSport set a new August record last month, with sales up 98 percent year over year to 8,300. New customer orders for EcoSport are up 133 percent in August compared with August 2017.

Ranger continues to lead as Europe's best-selling pickup truck, based on latest available data from the end of July. Ford sold 3,700 Ranger trucks in its Euro 20 markets last month, making it the best August for Ranger since it was introduced.
