Got followers? Get excited! Starting today, an update to the GoPro app for iOS enables live streaming direct to a Facebook Page or Group.
That last bit is important because, while live streaming direct to Facebook has been possible since HERO7 Black launched, that was direct to a Facebook profile. Now we're talking pages and groups. So what's the difference?
Facebook Groups and Pages are meant for creators, athletes, public figures, businesses, brands, organizations, nonprofits and the likes to grow a community, share news and connect with followers or customers. Whereas a Facebook Profile is meant for an individual. A Facebook Profile is needed to create a Page, and a Page reaches everyone who 'likes' it.
The good news is, if you fall into the first category and you're itching to bring your followers into your inner circle. Available on iOS today, and coming soon to Android.
If live streaming isn't for you, there is still gold to be found in the GoPro app 5.2 update for both iOS and Android users alike. Not only are transfer speeds from your GoPro to your phone faster than ever, but all your send-it-worthy footage is now fed to a simplified in-app media gallery in its original quality. This includes Bursts, Time Lapses and TimeWarps-one of the fan-favorite features of the new flagship HERO7 Black that condenses long activities into sped-up, shareable moments.
If you really want to up your game, Plus subscribers get the added benefit of unlimited cloud storage for this footage, also in its original quality. And with the 5.2 update, the footage gets backed up in the cloud automatically with HERO7 Black's auto-offloading feature. At $4.99 a month, it's a small price to pay to have peace-of-mind and endless access to archived footage while on the go.
These updates to the GoPro App are available on the iOS App Store today and on Google Play starting tomorrow.
