Construction business expands production capacity for high-impact solutions in Russia

Henkel has officially opened its sixth dry mixes plant in Russia. The new plant will enable the company to meet the growing customer demand for construction mixes in the Northwestern Federal District. The total investment in the project amounts to more than 10 million euros.

The new plant is located in the company's existing production cluster in Tosno near Saint Petersburg and will produce more than 25 products under the leading Ceresit brand. The official opening ceremony was attended by Henkel´s global and local senior management as well as by regional governmental representatives.

'Russia is one of our global key markets for almost 30 years now, where we are supplying high-impact adhesive solutions for various industries', said Mark Dorn, Corporate Senior Vice President Craftsmen, Construction and Professional for the Adhesive Technologies business unit during the opening ceremony. 'We especially see further growth opportunities in the construction business and thus continue to strengthen our localization strategy by investing into our development and production capabilities. The new facility with a capacity of more than 80 thousand tons per year will enable us to expand our portfolio of innovative construction solutions in the region while creating new local job opportunities.'

The new plant is built in accordance with Henkel's highest sustainability standards. It is equipped with latest technologies to ensure an efficient use of natural resources and to limit the impact of its operations on the environment. These solutions include filter elements installed in the production area as well as automatic equipment control programs allowing to reduce energy consumption.

The Henkel adhesives construction business (Henkel Bautechnik) has been supplying solutions for the repair and construction market in Russia for more than 15 years. Today Henkel Bautechnik is among the top three western companies with local production facilities in the market for construction mixes in Russia. In 2018, CERESIT technologies were used to build more than 5 500 objects throughout Russia. Almost 8 million square meters of facades have been insulated with Ceresit technologies.
