BETHESDA, Md., Dec. 12, 2018 - Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) retirees have a new resource to support them during times of personal hardship. Effective today, the company is opening its disaster relief fund to approximately 141,000 former colleagues.
'Retirees are important members of Lockheed Martin's community,' said Patricia L. Lewis, senior vice present of Human Resources. 'They created the innovations that made the company successful and we want to be there to support them if they face a natural disaster.'
In 2006, the company established the Lockheed Martin Employee Disaster Relief Fund to provide active employees with short-term emergency assistance during federally declared disasters. The level of support ranges from $250 to $10,000 depending on the severity of the impact. This expansion of the fund to support certain Lockheed Martin Corporation retirees does not impact eligibility requirements of current employees.
Retirees can find additional information on the company's outreach portal and via email to community.relations@lmco.com.
