Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin and Kentucky Education and Workforce Secretary, Derrick Ramsey, recently joined local Kentucky McDonald's Owner/Operators to celebrate McDonald's Archways to Opportunity program. Owner/Operator Gist Heinrich hosted the celebration at his Frankfort restaurant, recognizing two of his managers - Jessica Childers and Kendyl Tudor - who are attending college in Kentucky thanks in large part to the Archways to Opportunity program.

'McDonald's for me has always been about opportunity - opportunity for my family, opportunity for our employees, opportunity for our communities,' said Frankfort McDonald's Owner/Operator Gist Heinrich. 'That's why I'm proud to join Governor Bevin and my fellow Owner/Operators in promoting youth employability and the amazing educational opportunities McDonald's provides Jessica, Kendyl, and all our employees.'

Gov. Matt Bevin credited McDonald's for leading the way in giving its employee's an opportunity to succeed by advancing their education.

'McDonald's Archways to Opportunity program is a great example of a private sector company investing in the long-term success of its employees,' said Gov. Bevin. 'The company's vision to provide education pathways and career development opportunities aligns well with what we are already doing at the state level to grow and strengthen our workforce. I applaud McDonald's for their forward-thinking approach and encourage companies across the Commonwealth to develop programs of their own that will benefit Kentucky's students and workers.'
