Pearson : Names New Chief Corporate Affairs Officer

LONDON, (October 31, 2018) - Pearson, the world's learning company, today announced the appointment of Deirdre Latour as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer reporting to Chief Executive Officer John Fallon. She will join Pearson on January 1, 2019 and lead the team responsible for the company's global corporate affairs, including government relations, media & investor relations, employee communications, and brand & social impact.

A highly talented and experienced communicator, Deirdre spent the last fourteen years at General Electric, most recently as chief communications officer and senior advisor to the CEO. Among her many accomplishments, she helped to drive the evolution of GE's image from a legacy industrial manufacturing and financial services conglomerate to a focused digital company through media, thought leadership, events and executive positioning. Prior to joining GE, Deirdre worked for the global public relations firm Edelman, where she was a vice president, responsible for a variety of corporate communications, brand, cause, consumer and entertainment marketing efforts.
