PT Bukit Asam Tbk or PTBA won two Top IT 2017 awards, namely Top IT Implementation on Energy Sector 2017 and PTBA President Director, Arviyan Arifin, achieved Top Leader in IT Leadership 2017 at TOP IT & Telco Awards 2017 from Itech Magazine, Tuesday (31/10). Top Leader in IT Leadership 2017 award achieved by Arviyan Arifin, President Director of PTBA, received by Director of Operations and Production PTBA, Suryo Eko Hadianto. While the Top IT Implementation on Energy Sector 2017 award received directly by M. Bagir, who previously served as SM IT PTBA. The assessment itself was conducted since last August through several stages such as questionnaires and interviews. Top IT Implementation Award on Energy Sector 2017 proves that PTBA succeeds to implement and utilize IT optimally in conducting company's activities. In addition, TOP IT Leadership Award received by Arviyan Arifin because it is considered to have a commitment and high support for the successful implementation of IT systems within the company.

PT Bukit Asam Tbk is engaged in coal mining and related activities. The Company is involved in the general surveying, exploration, exploitation, processing, refining, transportation and trading, and management of special coal port facilities for internal and external needs. Its segments include the coal mining segment and other segments. Its coal mining segment includes mining business permits (IUP) of approximately 68,777 hectares (ha) in several locations that have coal reserves. It owns several mines spread across South Sumatra Province, West Sumatra Province, and Riau Province. The other segment includes electricity generation, investment or holding (plantation and hospital services), transportation, and warehousing (especially for port services). It also engaged in the operation of steam power plants for internal and external needs and the provision of consulting services related to the coal mining industry as well as its derivative products, and plantation development activities.
