sporttotal.tv installs its 400th camera system
- Number of clubs quadrupled year on year
- More than 4,500 games already streamed since the launch 20 months ago
- Expansion to between 440 and 450 systems before year end
Cologne, October 23, 2018. sporttotal.tv, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG and Germany's largest amateur sports streaming platform, has installed its 400th camera system. With the VfB Friedrichshafen, a volleyball club with a long tradition, four times as many clubs now use the sporttotal system compared with October 2017.
Further expansion planned this year
The number of clubs whose facilities are equipped with a sporttotal.tv camera system has continued to grow at a fast pace. Management anticipates that another 40 to 50 systems will have been installed by year end. CEO Peter Lauterbach: "A increasing number of clubs have recognized that live streaming will allow them to significantly enlarge their coverage beyond stadium spectators. The significant growth in our installed basis and our coverage shows that we are on the right track. We want to make sporttotal.tv Europe's leading streaming portal for amateur football and other select sports."
Further expansion in amateur football and into other sports
Since the offering was launched around 20 months ago, more than 4,500 amateur football meetings in 21 clubs have been streamed via sporttotal.tv. The number of games in the 2018/2019 season alone amounts to 4,000. The special camera technology enables the live, fully automated broadcasting of football games in a high quality. In addition, sporttotal.tv is consistently extending its offering to include other sports, the 1st and 2nd Volleyball Bundesliga for women and men, for instance. All 24 Volleyball Bundesliga clubs have been equipped with fully automated sporttotal.tv camera technology for this purpose. Moreover, sporttotal.tv won its first ice hockey partner in the Kölner Haie in September 2018.
Pilot projects are also up and running in other sports such as hockey, basketball and tennis.
