It is a bestseller from Volkswagen: the Passat. Now the new edition goes on presale in the first European countries. And not only drivers of company cars will love the big 'Update 2.0' of the bestseller. A young team has spent months analyzing strengths and weaknesses of the previous model in order to make the new Passat even better.

New highlights include the 'Travel Assist' feature, which appears in a Volkswagen for the first time. It allows partially automated driving across practically the whole speed range up to 210 km/h - a milestone on the way to autonomous driving. In addition, an inductive charging tray for smartphones can be ordered. And there are significantly greater possibilities to adjust the suspension with DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control), including an intuitive operation of the system via slider.

But these are not the only highlights. Oliver Schröter, project leader, explains the features which make the Passat stand out and how the vehicle has become more comfortable and digital. Check out the video:
