MILAN, June 1, 2020 - Webuild (Salini Impregilo) is consolidating its position among companies that are leaders in sustainability with the receipt of an 'A' rating from Morgan Stanley Capital International's (MSCI) ESG Research, one of the main ratings agencies that reviews the environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices of thousands of companies throughout the world. The rating confirms the Group's long-term vision, sustainability strategy, and business plan that is focused on growth consolidation and value creation for shareholders, investors, employees, clients and communities.

MSCI ESG Research's 'A' rating, which qualifies a company's resilience to long-term ESG risks and is followed by the global investment community, places Webuild among the best companies in the sector. It caps a trend that has seen an improvement in the Group's standing, beginning in 2018 with a 'BB' rating and 'BBB' in 2019. The updated rating for 2020 is mainly related to a strengthening in corporate governance and greater attention placed on the independence and diversity of the Board of Directors. MSCI also cites the code of ethics adopted by the Group, and the progress it has made on health and safety at work, seeing a reduction in the average annual rate of accidents to about 34% during the 2016-2019 period. The Group's adoption of ESG principles in its business strategy was enriched by a new renumeration policy (LTI 2020-2022 Plan) that ties long-term salary incentives to the achievement of specific sustainability targets.

The Group's contribution to sustainable development promoted by the United Nations is displayed in the construction of infrastructure that contributes to meeting Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)and the fight against climate change. It provides clients with innovative solutions for sustainable mobility, it builds hydropower plants, helps improve water management and erects green buildings. This type of infrastructure represented 88% of the Group's revenues in 2019, with 58% of that total related to low-carbon projects to reduce the emission of harmful gases. Projects in hydro projects, metro lines and water management - from the United States to Australia to Northern Europe - enable millions of people to have access to renewable energy, efficient water systems and quick, safe and ecological transport.

In its 114 years, Webuild has played a key role in the growth of more than 50 countries, with the construction of large dams on every continent, hydraulic projects like the new Panama Canal, high-speed railways in Italy and metro lines such as the one in Copenhagen that contribute to reducing traffic and air pollution. The Group has also worked at safeguarding ancient monuments such as the Abu Simbel temples in Egypt, the management of overflows from rainstorms with the Anacostia River Tunnel and the Northwest Boundary Tunnel (NEBT) in Washington, D.C., and environmental restoration such as a project related to the everglades in Florida.

The rating is the latest of a series of recognitions received by the Group, such as an 'A-' rating from CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) for the climate change programme as well as the ISS-Oekom 'Prime' and EcoVadis 'Gold' ratings.
