Eli Lilly Chair, CEO David Ricks Named as Head of PhRMA Board

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America said Wednesday the Eli Lilly & Co. Chairman and Chief Executive, David Ricks, has been named as chairman of the PhRMA board of directors.

Mr. Ricks succeeds Giovanni Caforio, the chairman and chief executive of Bristol Myers Squibb Co.

Mr. Ricks, a 20-plus year veteran of Lilly, was named chief executive in January 2017 and assumed the role of chairman in June of that year.

He also serves on the boards of Adobe Inc. and the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership.

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America said it "represents the country's leading innovative biopharmaceutical research companies."
