Headquartered in London, GIML was founded in 1984 and provides investment management services to a range of pooled investment vehicles, such as GAM Funds, corporate and public pension plans, trusts, estates, charitable organizations, foundations, endowments, corporations and other business entities.

Quilter & Co. Ltd. (Quilter) is the investment management subsidiary of Quilter Cheviot Ltd., itself a subsidiary of Quilter Cheviot Holdings Ltd. in Great Britain. The firm, which traces their ancestry back to 1777, was acquired by Morgan Stanley in 2007 and in 2012, the firm's management and private equity firm, Bridgepoint, partnered to purchase them from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
