Danie Jordaan joined Ethos in 1991.
He played a leading role in establishing the 1992 Ethos Fund II, believed to be the first "blind pool" private equity limited partnership in South Africa, and has assisted in the implementation of subsequent Ethos funds.
He led the first BEE private equity transaction in South Africa, Kagiso Publishers; the privatisation of KFM Radio from the South African Broadcasting Corporation; Ethos' first European high-yield bond raised for the Savcio investment and the largest South African private equity exit when Waco was sold to a global private equity firm after a dual-track sale process.
Danie Jordaan was also involved in the successful consolidation of a large section of the South African security industry through Sentry Security and its exit to an international conglomerate.
He has a proven track record of assisting organisations through difficulties and working with management to implement successful rationalisations.
He is currently leading the Savcio investment.
Danie Jordaan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg and a Computer Science degree from the University of South Africa.
He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Directors.
