He has two decades of experience in capital markets, data infrastructure and startups, running the gamut from quant modeling to product design to corporate strategy.
In addition to running Premise and working as a Venture Partner for Bowery, he serves on the advisory board of Columbia University’s Institute for Data Sciences, appointed by Columbia President Lee Bollinger.
Prior to Premise, he was the founding CEO of Metamarkets, backed by Khosla Ventures and True Ventures.
David holds a graduate degree from UC Berkeley, where he was a Javits and Pritchett Fellow pursuing the study of social, economic and linguistic history of the Greek and Roman world.
He also holds an undergraduate degree in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures from Columbia.
He lives in Berkeley with his wife and three kids.
