Edward J.
Staples, Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Staples is the co-inventor of the zNose and has served as the Managing Director of the Company since 1995.
He formerly served as a program manager of sensor technology at the corporate research laboratory of Texas Instrument for five years and Rockwell International for seven years during 1970s and early 1980s.
Dr. Staples led a team of scientists and engineers in the development of miniature oscillator and frequency synthesizers for communication systems as well as various projects in sensor technology with many significant achievements while he was at the Rockwell.
Dr. Staples is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ("IEEE") with over 50 technical publications.
He was the Associate Editor of the IEEE Transaction on Sonics and Ultrasonics, and served on numerous technical program committees for symposiums involving SAW sensor technologies.
Dr. Staples received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Loyola University, a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D.
degree in solid-state physics and electronics from Southern Methodist University.
