GEOTrac Systems, Inc.
GEOTrac Systems, Inc. Computer CommunicationsElectronic Technology GEOTrac Systems Inc. opened their doors in September 2003. Built out of necessity, GEOTrac was to fill a technological void for the Alberta oil and gas industry. Founded by a key individual in an elite Tier 4 technical team at Nortel Networks, GEOTrac would create the most advanced fleet management system in the industry. The oil and gas industry in Alberta has been growing exponentially over a number of years. The infrastructure of pipelines, drill sites, facilities, and batteries crisscrosses the province. Access to this entire infrastructure is being built by road construction companies contracted by large oil and gas producers. Most of these private lease roads are not found on any commercially available maps, even to the industry that built them. GEOTrac began the long and arduous task of data logging construction vehicles as they built these roads. These data loggers feed GPS coordinates from their route. Each day, these coordinates are uploaded and fed to a proprietary mapping application that plots these coordinates. Seven years later, this feed comes from thousands of oil and gas vehicles traveling all over Western Canada. GPS coordinates are matched to existing roads and the delta is used to keep the map the most detailed and up-to-date mapping solution for the oil and gas industry. In seven years, GEOTrac has evolved with the oil and gas industry to provide a complete fleet management solution that improves safety, reduces operational costs, increases productivity, and generates revenue. | Corporate Officer/Principal | 2005-12-31 | 2011-12-31 |
