Profile

Matthews has over 20 years executive management experience in a number of industries including technology, retail, distribution, management consulting, and investment banking.
He serves as president and CEO of Certance since February 2003.
Concurrently, he was elected to the Company’s board of directors.
Matthews joined Certance in March 2002 as Vice President and General Manager.
Prior to joining Certance, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Matthews, White & Company, a consulting and advisory services group, from 1999 until joining Certance and as principal of Matthews Consulting from 1994 to 1999.
Matthews also held the positions of Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of Auto Parts Club, Inc.; Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of Office Club, Inc.; and Vice President, Finance, Corporate Controller for Pacific Stereo Corporation.
He earned a bachelor’s degree at Occidental College, Los Angeles, and an MBA from University of California, Berkeley.
