Mr. Thomas is a Founding Partner of Saybrook and currently serves as Chairman of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the state stem cell agency created by Proposition 71.
Prior to that, he was responsible for Fund marketing and a senior member of Saybrook Restructuring Advisors.
From 1994-2001, Mr. Thomas served as a member (Vice President the last two years) of the City of Los Angeles Harbor Commission, the five member board responsible for running the Port of Los Angeles, and as a member of the Governing Board for the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority ("ACTA").
While on the ACTA Board, he oversaw the $2.4b financing for the 20 mile rail corridor project connecting the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to the dispatching yards south of downtown Los Angeles, then one of the largest public infrastructure projects in the country.
Mr. Thomas graduated from Oxford University, where he earned his DPhil (PhD).
in Commonwealth History (medical history focus), as well as from Yale University (B.A., summa cum laude) and Yale Law School (J.D.).
