Based in Bogota, the firm was established in 1991 as Sociedad Administradora de Fondos de Pensiones y de Cesantías Davivir SA. In 1999, Grupo Santander Central Hispano acquired the firm and in 2000 they merged with Sociedad Administradora de Fondos de Cesantías y Pensiones Colmena AIG SA, creating Administradora de Fondos de Pensiones y Cesantías Santander SA. In 2007 the firm was acquired by ING Groupe NV and became ING Administradora de Fondos de Pensiones y Cesantías S.A.
