Prior to FGG, from 2001 to 2005, Mr. Brown was the founder and Managing Principal of Brownstone Advisors, a New York-based alternative investment firm specializing in identifying and investing in hedge funds.
Prior to Brownstone, from 1995 to 2001, Mr. Brown was the co-founder and Managing Principal of Xmark Asset Management (formerly Brown Simpson Asset Management), an alternative investment firm focusing on investing in and supporting small US-based technology and biotechnology companies.
He began his career in 1991 at Shearson Lehman Brothers, where he managed equity and fixed income portfolios for both institutions and private clients.
After that firm's merger with Travelers Group, he remained with Smith Barney Shearson until starting has own firm in 1995.
Mr. Brown received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's College in San Francisco, California in 1991.
Mr. Brown's affiliations with charitable and philanthropic organizations include: member, Board of Trustees of The Boys Club of New York; member, Global Advisory Board of Endeavor, for which he also serves as an Endeavor Ambassador and a member of the Country Boards for both South Africa and Turkey; member, U.S.
Advisory Committee for the Global Leadership Foundation (GLF).
He holds a FINRA Series 7 license, and is based in the New York office.
