Mr. Origenes joined BD in 2004 after serving six years as a principal and then partner with a private venture capital firm where he led or managed investments in biotechnology, specialty pharma and medical device companies.
His expertise in commercializing life sciences technology is based on broad industry experience including strategy consulting positions with Bain & Company and The Wilkerson Group, pharmaceutical business development at Schering-Plough, biotechnology product management and development at Genentech, and pharmaceutical sales with Roche Laboratories.
Mr. Origenes holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Genetics and History from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master of Science in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University's Graduate School of Industrial Administration (now the Tepper School of Business).
