Founded in 1945, the firm was formerly known as Montag & Caldwell, Inc. and changed their name to Montag & Caldwell LLC after a successful employee-led buyout in 2010. Montag & Caldwell traces their roots to 1945 when Louis A. Montag formed Atlanta's first independent investment advisory firm. In 1956, Eugene Caldwell was made a partner and the firm's name was changed to Montag & Caldwell, Inc. In 1968, Montag & Caldwell, working with Financial Services Corp., incorporated their first mutual fund, the Alpha Fund. The firm serves a wide range of individual and institutional clients through separate accounts and mutual funds. They have experience working with retirement plans, endowment funds, foundations, state and local governments, hospitals, insurance companies, credit unions and Taft-Hartley funds.
