He has experience investing in developed and in emerging markets, across a range of industries including industrials, agribusiness, telecom infrastructure, financial services and technology.
Previously, Souleymane was a partner at Helios Investment Partners, an investment firm that focuses exclusively on Africa with investments in more than 30 countries.
Prior to that, Souleymane worked in private equity in the US, including at Warburg Pincus, where he focused on leveraged buyouts, growth equity and venture investments in the industrial and consumer sectors, and at The Carlyle Group, where he focused on the industrials, transportation and logistics sectors.
He started his career in investment banking in Morgan Stanley’s natural resources group in New York.
Souleymane serves as a member of the mothers2mothers board of trustees and previously was on the board of trustees of Wesleyan University.
He has a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
