Kramer is Senior Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at Kramer Van Kirk Credit Strategies LP.
He has 30 years of experience in the corporate and leveraged credit markets, the last 25 of which have been dedicated exclusively to leveraged finance.
He has extensive knowledge of the leveraged loan asset class with particular strengths in credit selection, portfolio construction and portfolio management.
Prior to forming KVK in 2011, Mr. Kramer was Managing Director and Co-Head of Leveraged Asset Management at Neuberger Berman (2007-2010), the successor firm of Lehman Brothers Asset Management which purchased LightPoint Capital Management in July 2007.
As Chief Executive Officer of LightPoint, he oversaw the establishment, international expansion and growth of the firm to a multi-billion dollar platform in a little over 5 years as well as the subsequent sale to Lehman Brothers in 2007.
Prior to forming LightPoint in 2002, he was Managing Director and U.S.
Head of North American Leveraged Finance for ABN AMRO.
Prior to that, he was a Senior Transactor and Team Leader (1996-2000) responsible for transactions supporting the Consumer Products, General Industrial and Transportation Industry Groups.
During 1995 and 1996, he was a Senior Vice President and Team Leader at GE Capital.
From 1988-1995, Mr. Kramer held increasingly responsible positions in the Leveraged Finance Group of the First National Bank of Chicago culminating in a Senior Transactor role.
Mr. Kramer holds a B.A.
in Economics from Marquette University and a M.B.A.
in Finance and Management from the J.L.
Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
