Mr. Thomas Smith is Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer at CNL Ventures Group.
He joined CNL Ventures in 2005, overseeing its U.S.
operations and its other activities outside of Aisa, and was one of the founders of CNL Ventures.
He has several years of experience of working with high growth & turnaround technology companies.
At CNL Ventures, his key roles include deal sourcing, due diligence, deal execution, and portfolio management.
Prior to joining CNL Ventures, Mr. Smith was a member of the Soros Fund Management in New York from 1995 to 2000, where he was involved in managing a $3 Billion private equity fund.
In 2001, he worked for Salmon Brothers in New York, where he participation in Securities Trading.
Mr. Smith serves on the boards of several public & private companies.
He is also on the investment committee for the CNL Asia Infrastructure Fund.
He earned an MBA from Columbia University, New York, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Witwatersand in South Africa.
