Mr. Barton came to Hawaii in 1981 from Detroit where he worked 24 years for Comerica Bank.
He also was a faculty member of the University of Detroit's Evening School of Commerce and a pension plan trustee for Birmingham, Mich.
Mr. Barton is a member of the Security Analysts Society of San Francisco, American Arbitration Association and Financial Analysts Federation.
Mr. Barton earned bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration at the University of Michigan.
