Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd.'s vehicle sales for June rose 21% to 110,219 units from a year earlier, capping a strong recovery in China sales in the second quarter after disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Unit sales for the month were up 1% from May, the Chinese car maker said Monday.

Vehicle sales for the first half fell 19% to 530,446 units. However, Geely noted that second-quarter sales rose 14%, partly recovering from a 44% decline in the first quarter at the height of the Covid-19 outbreak in China.

Geely maintained its full-year sales volume target of 1.4 million units, citing "strong recovery" in the Chinese vehicle sales market in the second quarter.
