I Squared Capital has acquired the renewable energy company Oriden from Mitsubishi Power Americas, the American energy arm of Mitsubishi Group's industrials company.
I Squared said Monday that it plans to invest around $300 million to support Oriden's growth, including the buildout of a diversified asset base.
"Currently, the U.S. energy transition market presents a compelling entry opportunity for long-term, disciplined, value investors," I Squared Chief Investment Officer Gautam Bhandari said. "Growing power demand and the need to bring generation online rapidly provide structural tailwinds for the future growth of this platform."
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
