Democrat Tex Morgan launches his Texans campaign to return the statewide executive position of Commissioner of the General Land Office (GLO) to the people of Texas. Tex will launch his campaign at 10 am on Thursday, January 4th at an event in front of The Alamo in San Antonio.

Who:

Carl “Tex” Morgan

What:

Campaign Launch for Texas Land Commissioner

When:

Thursday, January 4, 2018 - 10 a.m.

Where:

The Alamo, 300 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205

In his prepared remarks at The Alamo, Tex will criticize incumbent George P. Bush for “squandering taxpayer funds, hare-brained schemes, failing to deliver GLO and FEMA hurricane relief competently, and attempting to hide lots of questionable behavior from the public. ¡Ya Basta! Unfortunately, this Bush is all name and no game. Enough is enough.”

In deciding to run, Tex states: “Texans have a vested interest in liberating the General Land Office from the past administrations under the Republican 'tweedle brothers' Jerry Patterson and George P. Bush. Plainly speaking, the conservation of our lands and beaches; the adequate generation of state revenue from our vast resources; the special delivery to our veterans of their earned State benefits; even the preservation our hallowed Alamo; and the protection of our school children, teachers and taxpayers—all depend on the competent and open conduct of government business. I promise to deliver what those two tweedles have not. It’s time for a new generation in government dedicated to honest and forthright fiscal management, expeditious delivery of hurricane relief, and the principled conduct of our people’s business!”

Thirty-eight years old, Tex is a native of Houston and resident of San Antonio. He is a computer engineer and scientist who has worked as a Senior Engineer, Team Leader, VP of Engineering, and CEO of an information technology firm. He has served on the Board of Trustees of a major Metropolitan Transit Authority (San Antonio’s VIA) among other commitments to public service. He holds B.S. degrees from Columbia University (Computer Engineering) and Hobart College (Computer Science) and an M.B.A. from Baruch College. He is an Eagle Scout and mentors youth and the disabled in IT.

At the campaign launch, Tex will also address the role of the GLO, the agency’s importance to what makes us Texans, and his reasons for running. “I recognize this is an uphill race for a Democrat, but I am a former college football lineman and, at 6’6” and 38, I’m still a pretty high stepper. We, The-People, shall win this race!”

Tex also pledges to “never use taxpayer money to buy the silence of wrongfully fired employees as did Commissioner Bush, nor pay outrageous bonuses with taxpayer money as did Commissioner Patterson. I say Remember The Alamo and join our fight to return our blessed State of Texas to open, forthright, and competent government.”
