(Fort McMurray, AB - January 15, 2018) - Effective February 5, 2018, the curbside garbage and recycling collection schedule will change for urban and rural curbside collection areas in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

Starting February 5, curbside garbage and recycling will be collected from Tuesday to Friday. This means the curbside garbage and recycling calendar will change in 2018 and resident's day of collection may change. As part of this collection schedule change, the addition and implementation of five new fully automated garbage and recycling collection vehicles will increase service delivery and efficiency.

Residents can find a map showing the calendar by neighbourhood at rmwb.ca/garbage, in addition to a tool that will help to determine their curbside garbage and recycling collection day. Residents with questions can contact PULSE 24/7 at 780-743-7000 or online at rmwb.ca/PULSE.

In addition, the temporary recycling and garbage bins in Abasand, Beacon Hill, Stone Creek, Waterways and Wood Buffalo will be removed on February 5, 2018. Collection services have been fully restored across all rebuild areas and residents should their use curbside bins. Residents who have moved home and require new bins can call PULSE at 780-743-7000.
