Producers of metals and other raw materials rose amid signs of a rapid rebound in Chinese economic activity coinciding with supply restrictions.

Workers at BHP Group's Escondida mine in Chile, the world's largest copper mine, have extended negotiations over contracts for another day in a final attempt to prevent a strike, Reuters reported. The chairman of BHP said some of its Chinese customers are asking to defer delivery of coal from the world's largest miner, amid reports the country is banning coal imports from Australia.
