ADF Foods Limited announced that Mr. Balark Banerjea, has been appointed as President Indian Domestic Business in the category of Senior Management Personnel with effect from 3rd October, 2023. Mr. Balark is a Mechanical Engineer from RVCE Bangalore, and has done his PGDM from IIM Lucknow in 2004. He joined Tata Administrative Services from
campus, and was associated with the Tata Group for 18 years in various capacities, mainly in their Foods businesses. After an initial stint with Tata Motors, Mr. Balark was the
Vice President (Sales & Marketing) with Innovative Foods Limited (Sumeru) where he grew the business from INR 80 million to INR 750 million, including launching 3 sub-brands
within the frozen space, all in the span of 7 years. Thereafter, he led the Foods vertical for Tata Industries and was responsible for conceptualizing and setting up new ventures, the role entailing industry analysis, conceptualizing business models and building business plans and evaluating investment /acquisition opportunities. Post that stint, he was the CEO of Tata SmartFoodz which owned the entire "Ready to Eat" business, where Mr. Balark established, scaled up and built a highly sustainable business with focus on products, people and processes. Mr. Balark has significant leadership experience in managing turnaround situations, setting-up and growing foods businesses, e-commerce, developing Greenfield
projects and using new technologies and innovation to scale-up operations.
