To help provide relief for Georgia policyholders affected by Hurricane Michael, Aflac will provide a grace period relating to premium payment deadlines and adverse underwriting decisions for insureds affected by Hurricane Michael in 108 counties. The grace period is 51 days, from October 10, 2018 to November 30, 2018. To help provide relief for North Carolina policyholders affected by Hurricane Florence and the resulting flooding, Aflac will provide a longer period of time in order to review claims, defer premium payments and before initiating debt collection during the Department of Insurance prescribed period, which is Sept. 14, 2018, to Dec. 13, 2018. This grace period also applies to any policy or contract provision that imposes a time limit on the insured, claimant, or insurer to perform any act. These provisions will apply to the following counties specified by the North Carolina Department of Insurance: Anson, Beaufort, Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Chatham, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Duplin, Durham, Greene, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lee, Lenoir, Moore, New Hanover, Onslow, Orange, Pamlico, Pender, Pitt, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland, Union, Wayne, and Wilson
