ALPEK, S.A.B. De C.V. Announced earnings results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2019. For the fourth quarter, the company announced total revenue was MXN 27,133 million compared to MXN 34,802 million a year ago. Operating income was MXN 5,834 million compared to MXN 10,167 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 4,047 million compared to MXN 7,815 million a year ago. For the full year, total revenue was MXN 119,685 million compared to MXN 134,523 million a year ago. Operating income was MXN 12,361 million compared to MXN 21,202 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 6,605 million compared to MXN 13,633 million a year ago.
Alpek SAB de CV is a Mexico-based company engaged in the chemicals sector. The Company's activities are divided into two business segments: Polyester and Plastics & Chemicals. The Polyester division focuses on the manufacture and distribution of purified terephthalic acid (PTA), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyester fiber. The Plastics & Chemicals division is responsible for the production of polypropylene (PP), expandable polystyrene (EPS), caprolactam (CPL), ammonium sulfate, as well as specialty and industrial chemicals, such as surfactants, ethoxilates, glycoethers and desemulsionates. The Company's products are used in a range of industries, including consumer goods, food and beverages, automotive, construction, agriculture, oil and gas, as well as pharmaceuticals.
