Alpha Pro Tech, Ltd. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was USD 17.806 million compared to USD 25.500 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 1.830 million compared to USD 7.882 million a year ago. Net income was USD 1.671 million compared to USD 6.220 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.13 compared to USD 0.47 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.12 compared to USD 0.46 a year ago. For the half year, sales was USD 40.967 million compared to USD 43.654 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 6.233 million compared to USD 12.151 million a year ago. Net income was USD 5.390 million compared to USD 11.561 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.41 compared to USD 0.87 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.4 compared to USD 0.84 a year ago.
Alpha Pro Tech, Ltd. is a Canada-based company, which is engaged in developing, manufacturing and marketing a line of protective apparel garments, face masks and face shields and a line of construction weatherization building products for the housing market. Its products are sold both under the Alpha Pro Tech brand name as well as under private labels. Its products are classified into two business segments: The Building Supply segment, and The Disposable Protective Apparel segment. The Building Supply segment consists of construction weatherization products, such as house wrap and synthetic roof underlayment, as well as other woven materials. The Disposable Protective Apparel segment consists of a head-to-toe disposable protective garment (shoe covers, bouffant caps, coveralls, gowns, frocks and lab coats), face masks and face shields. It serves the markets such as pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, medical device manufacturing, lab animal research, construction supply and more.
