The Federal Trade Commission said it approved a final administrative consent order against Amazon.com Inc. over charges that for more than two years, the online marketplace heavyweight didn't pay Amazon Flex drivers all the money they made in tips.

Amazon has agreed to pay around $61.7 million to settle the charges. That money will be used by the regulator to compensate the drivers, according to the FTC.

The FTC's administrative complaint against the company was announced this past February.
