Ambra S.A. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 31, 2011. For the quarter, the company reported total net sales revenue of PLN 190,220,000 compared with PLN 185,390,000 for the same period last year. Profit on sales was PLN 30,864,000 compared with PLN 37,612,000 for the same period last year. EBIT was PLN 30,666,000 compared with PLN 37,493,000 for the same period last year. Profit before tax was PLN 28,754,000 compared with PLN 35,030,000 for the same period last year. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent company was PLN 20,666,000 or PLN 0.59 diluted per share compared with PLN 23,943,000 or PLN 0.74 diluted per share for the same period last year. Net profit from continued activities was PLN 23,493,000 compared with PLN 28,055,000 for the same period last year.
For the six months, the company reported total net sales revenue of PLN 275,484,000 compared with PLN 267,321,000 for the same period last year. Profit on sales was PLN 35,081,000 compared with PLN 44,017,000 for the same period last year. EBIT was PLN 35,191,000 compared with PLN 44,074,000 for the same period last year. Profit before tax was PLN 33,270,000 compared with PLN 39,663,000 for the same period last year. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent company was PLN 23,407,000 or PLN 0.87 diluted per share compared with PLN 27,135,000 or PLN 0.94 diluted per share for the same period last year. Net profit from continued activities was PLN 26,984,000 compared with PLN 31,140,000 for the same period last year. Net cash flows from operating activities were PLN 54,127,000 compared with PLN 26,869,000 for the same period last year. Acquisitions of tangible and intangible non-current assets were PLN 6,870,000 compared with PLN 6,109,000 for the same period last year. EBIT was lower by 20.2% than in the previous year primarily due to the PLN depreciation. Diluted book value per ordinary share was PLN 8.11 compared with PLN 7.84 for the same period last year.
Ambra SA is a Poland-based company engaged in the production, import and distribution of wines and non-alcoholic beverages in Central and Eastern Europe. It offers wines, sparkling wines, vermouths, mineral water and fizzy drinks, among others. The Company's offer includes such brands as Dorato, Cin&Cin, Faber, Gran Cazzano, Michelangelo, Canelli and Piccolo, among others. Additionally, the Company is engaged in importing alcoholic beverages manufactured by third parties. As of December 31, 2011, the Company operated 13 subsidiaries, based in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania. On June 26, 2013, the Company merged with its subsidiaries, Centrum Wina-Dystrybucja Sp. z o.o. and Capricorn Investments.
