In the recently released report*,56% of respondents stated they held off on traveling for major entertainment events last year but have plans to attend these types of events this year. "I've been hearing from a lot of Card Members how happy they are to be able to return to in-person events. My team has been busy assisting with car rentals for the 2022 Masters Tournament and recently, I was able to help a Card Member with family travel to the Grammy VIP Experience. Additionally, my team worked with a Card Member looking to travel to experience the restaurant, Noma. We helped to book the flight, hotel, transfers, and built the trip's itinerary of planned activities to help them get the most out of the trip," said Cristian M., an American Express Travel Consultant.

In addition to these national and global events, 52% of respondents are also interested in traveling for personal gatherings such as weddings, birthdays, graduations or holidays, as shared in the report*. American Express Travel Consultants are experts in booking trips tied to milestone celebrations and have recently helped Card Members book destination weddings in Italy, anniversary trips to Austria, family reunions in Coloradoand more.

"I've been assisting a Card Member who is traveling to Jamaica for a family wedding this summer. As part of the trip, I've been able to help advise on local activities and experiences. It's been important to reassure them that they're not alone in the trip's planning so they can focus on the excitement of the occasion itself and the novelty of a tropical destination wedding at a time when travel restrictions have begun to ease," said Fabien A.

Curtis K. added, "I've been helping a family plan a trip to Cancun this summer to celebrate thegrandmother's 75thbirthday. It's been uplifting to hear how excited they are to be able to travel togetheronce again, as this will mark the first time many of them have gotten together since the start of the pandemic."
