APL Apollo Tubes Limited Provides Update on Order Received from the State Tax Officer, Intelligence, Hosur, Tamil Nadu for the Fiscal Year 2017-18

APL Apollo Tubes Limited announced reference to the earlier letter dated March 1, 2024 intimating about the assessment order dated February 29, 2024 received from the State Tax Officer, Intelligence, Hosur, Tamil Nadu under Section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017 raising a total demand of 27,209,864/- (Including Tax: 8,861,705, Penalty: 8,861,705/- and Interest: 9,486,454/-) on the Company for the Fiscal Year 2017-18. In this regard the company informed that in a writ petition filed by the Company against the said Order, the Hon'ble Madras High Court was pleased to pass an order dated April 12, 2024 setting aside the Order of the State Tax Officer to the extent of INR 26,372,600/- and remanding back the matter to the said authority for re-consideration.

The Company has manufacturing units in Uttar Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Telangana.
